Why I Ditched Multivitamins—and What I Take Instead

For a long time, I thought I should be taking a multivitamin. It felt like the responsible thing to do—especially someone trying to stay on top of their health.

But here’s the truth: I can’t tolerate them. My body hates them. What’s a girl to do.

Most multivitamins include synthetic forms of nutrients, and one in particular—vitamin B6 (pyridoxine hydrochloride)—was a big problem for me. Even in small doses, it triggers painful flares of my interstitial cystitis, a condition I manage carefully through diet. Try to find a multi vitamin without this… its not easy.

So I stopped forcing what wasn’t working, and for years I didn’t take anything. Recently, I came across a whole food approach and decided it was time to consider supplementing again. What I found was something unexpected but powerful: organ supplements.

These capsules contain nothing but freeze-dried, grass-fed beef organs—liver, heart, kidney, pancreas, and spleen. No synthetic nutrients. No fillers. Just real, bioavailable nutrition the way nature intended… I mean mostly (certainly beats eating liver and onions)

Each serving includes:

  • Encapsulated in a simple gelatin capsule
  • 600mg each of liver, heart, kidney, pancreas, and spleen
  • All from grass-fed, pasture-raised cattle

Liver alone is rich in iron, preformed vitamin A, folate, and natural B vitamins (including B6 in its active, usable form). Heart provides CoQ10, kidney supports detox and histamine regulation, and the rest add enzymes and immune support most of us don’t even realize we’re missing.

It turns out, our ancestors had it right: nose-to-tail eating was how humans nourished themselves for generations. They didn’t throw away the organs—they valued them as essential. Today, we’ve drifted so far from that model that we often forget these foods exist, let alone how much they offer.

If you’ve ever struggled with supplements—or you just want to explore a more natural path—this might be worth looking into. It’s been a game changer for me. More energy, better digestion, better sleep… and these are just the things that I notice. I can only imagine the other silent benefits to my body.
