DIY Buttermilk (dairy or alternative)

Sooooo you have a recipe that calls for buttermilk…. but what else do you do with buttermilk after you buy it. Its not like you’re going to drink it…

Or maybe you’re dairy free, and wondering if dairy free buttermilk even exists.

As someone who hates having the extra clutter just waiting to go bad in the fridge, this simple tip has you buttermilk ready in 5 minutes, and you probably already have the ingredients.

This works for milk or alternative milks.

Ready for simple?

Grab your milk or alternative milk. Pour whatever portion size you need for your recipe. Add a little squeeze of lemon juice to the milk. Stir. Let sit for 5 minutes.

And there you have it. You never have to buy buttermilk again.

Does this have measurements? Not in this house.

If it becomes one large curd ball, then odds are you might have added a little too much lemon.

Hope this simple trick saves you a little money and simplifies life a little for you!
