Sloppy Joe’s will always take me back to being a kid, but they are just as fun to eat as an adult… and just as messy. Enjoy!
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, pressed
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp gluten free soy sauce or coconut aminos
- 2 tsp prepared mustard
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 4 gluten free hamburger buns
- Serve with side of choice : coleslaw, salad, steamed veggies, raw veggies or French fries
Directions
- In a large skillet, cook beef over medium heat crumbling
- Add diced onion and garlic to skillet with beef, cooking until onions are translucent and beef is browned. Drain if needed
- Add the ketchup, water, brown sugar, soy sauce (or coconut aminos), mustard, and salt.
- Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
- Serve on buns.
Tips
- Double this recipe if you want to go back for seconds or leftovers. Its delicious.
