Sloppy Joe’s

Sloppy Joe’s will always take me back to being a kid, but they are just as fun to eat as an adult… and just as messy. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, pressed
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp gluten free soy sauce or coconut aminos
  • 2 tsp prepared mustard
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 4 gluten free hamburger buns
  • Serve with side of choice : coleslaw, salad, steamed veggies, raw veggies or French fries

Directions

  1. In a large skillet, cook beef over medium heat crumbling
  2. Add diced onion and garlic to skillet with beef, cooking until onions are translucent and beef is browned. Drain if needed
  3. Add the ketchup, water, brown sugar, soy sauce (or coconut aminos), mustard, and salt. 
  4. Bring to a boil. 
  5. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 10-15 minutes. 
  6. Serve on buns.

Tips

  • Double this recipe if you want to go back for seconds or leftovers. Its delicious.
  • Serving open faced is a great option
