Chicken Alfredo

Chicken Alfredo is delicious and you can make it at home for a fraction of the cost. Making it at home you can ensure that it is gluten free, and you also have dairy free options available to you.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 box gluten free pasta
  • 1 chicken breast, sliced
  • 1 jar of Alfredo sauce
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 4 oz mushrooms sliced
  • Optional : parmesan cheese, parsley

DIRECTIONS

  1. Prepare gluten free pasta as per box directions
  2. While the pasta water is heating to a boil, heat 1 tbsp oil in a skillet, and cook chicken
  3. Add pepper and onions, and saute for 3 minutes
  4. Add mushroom, Alfredo sauce and cook for another 3-4 minutes
  5. Serve topped with optional parmesan cheese and parsley 

TIPS:

Always check your Alfredo sauce ingredients to make sure that there are no sneaky gluten ingredients. If it has no BROW ingredients or warnings of ‘May contain’ then you should be safe.

You may find dairy free Alfredo sauces online or at your grocery store. A few brands to look for are : Daiya, Primal Kitchen, or Walden Farms.

By far the cheapest way to make dairy free Alfredo is by making your own.
