Why buy pre-made pizza sauce when you can make your own in seconds? The sauce makes the pizza in my opinion, and this simple recipe will make for a great base.

Ingredients

  • 1 can (398ml) tomato sauce
  • 2 Tbsp tomato paste
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1.5 Tbsp Italian Seasoning
  • 2 Tbsp maple syrup (sub brown or white sugar if preferred)
  • 2 tsp lemon juice

Directions

  1. Mix all ingredients together
  2. Spread onto pizza crust

Use this with my easy Gluten Free Pizza Crust Recipe for a quick and delicious pizza night at home – in less time than it takes for delivery, and no risk of cross contamination!

Tips

Measure out leftover tomato paste into 1 Tbsp servings and freeze (I use a small scoop and place on a small sheet pan to freeze) then store in a freezer safe container. Now you’ll have single portions available for future recipes.
