Who doesn’t love pizza night? Add a little kick to your pizza with buffalo sauce, and then incorporate your favourite toppings. This is sure to bring the heat and the flavour.
Ingredients
- 1 chicken breast, cooked and sliced
- 1 bell pepper sliced
- 1/2 red onion sliced
- 1 pizza crust premade, from mix (or use this recipe)
- 1 jar of pizza sauce (or use this recipe)
- 1/4 cup of dairy free buffalo sauce (or use this recipe)
- 2.5 cups of shredded pizza cheese
- 2 green onions
- Optional : gluten free ranch or blue cheese dressing for drizzling
Directions
- Mix your pizza crust as per directions and preheat the oven as per crust instructions.
- Combine chicken breast with 1/4 cup buffalo sauce
- Spread crust on pizza pan or pizza stone
- Add pizza sauce to crust
- Top with cheese
- Add toppings : chicken, onion, peppers
- Cook until crust is browned
- Top with green onions and optional dressing
Tips
- Want to give it a little more kick? Mix buffalo sauce with your pizza sauce for extra spice.
- Dairy free? Use a dairy free buffalo sauce (Primal Kitchen makes this), and dairy free cheese.
- Don’t like (or can’t have) dairy free cheese? No problem. Consider using baby spinach in a layer over the sauce to keep it from drying out. This will also add extra nutrients to your dinner. It will change the taste.
- As another dairy free option, consider adding mayonnaise to your sauce. Mix 3 tbsp of mayonnaise for every 1 cup of pizza sauce. This will keep your sauce from drying out and lends a surprisingly pleasant texture to the pizza.
